Hive Mind Mead & Brew Co.

Formerly working together under the guise of Wye Valley Meadery, brothers Matt and Kit Newell embody the wave of ‘craft’ brewing which has transformed the beer market in recent years. But the Newells have taken it a step further. Not only do they produce some of their own ingredients, notably the honey, but they have tackled that oldest of beverages, mead, with a reformist zeal that has seen them produce some of the most flavoursome and drinkable meads available today.

Yet attitude is but one aspect behind their successes. Matt has been “chasing bees” since the age of 16 and continues to tend their hives situated all along the bucolic Wye Valley (occasionally aided by Kit!). Kit is a product designer by trade, but both brothers share a commitment to perfect provenance and an eye for detail which shines through in the finished article.
